The Price Digest: Fruit Juice, Sept 2024

October 23, 2024

We’re back with another look at prices across the juice industry, thanks to the latest intel from our friends at The Juice Market.

Let’s start with the good news: this quarter, lemon, raspberry and white grape juice production is looking strong. However, we’re also seeing some issues with the supply of both orange and apple juices, with prices likely to rise as a consequence.

The headlines are as follows:

Lemon Concentrate
Currently a stable market, thanks to normal crop predictions and no price changes expected.

Raspberry Juice
With slightly smaller crops coming in, it is anticipated that there will be a small increase in price.

White Grape Juice
Again, we’re seeing normal crops across Italy and Spain so, if anything, the prices might be more favourable for buyers, depending on demand from other sectors of the food and drink market.

Orange Juice
The continued hot, dry weather in Brazil is likely to have a negative impact on production and we’re also seeing frozen concentrated orange juice trading at an all time high. The general expectation is for prices to stay high and possibly even increase.

Apple Juice
And finally, a note on apples. Adverse weather in Poland has really hampered the maturation of this year’s apple crop and there have also been issues around finding sufficient labour to pick the apples. This means a limited supply of apples is available at the moment so buyers are accepting they will have to pay a higher price for smaller volumes. Meanwhile, there’s also limited stock of frozen apple juice concentrate available from Poland too.

This is a summary of their full report which contains a far more detailed analysis of the global juice market and is available here.
